Anri Shiga

​Yoga Bou Master Trainer

Actively sharing the healing practice of yoga since 2007, Anri is the only Yoga Bou Master Trainer outside of Japan with over 10,000 hours of teaching experience in Hong Kong, Japan, and mainland China. She believes that yoga is for everybody and loves to use tools that can make the practice accessible to all and maximise the effect. Yoga Bou is one of her favourite tools for her signature Neck and Shoulder Care class because the impact is immediate, and even for those unfamiliar with yoga, one can experience the benefits of yoga practice.

Gloria Kong

Advanced Bou Trainer

Yoga Bou has been integral to Gloria's yoga journey for many years. Being in her 50s, Bou has been an incredibly effective tool for maintaining body alignment and enhancing flexibility, especially around the shoulder blades. The mindful movement and stretches it brings have helped her stay centred and grounded physically and mentally. Whether it’s a gentle flow or a challenging pose, Yoga Bou allows her to connect with her body, release tension, and find inner peace.

Elisa Tam

Advanced Bou Trainer

Elisa is a dedicated yoga practitioner and teacher with ten years of experience. Her training in Alignment-based Hatha and Ashtanga yoga inspired her to emphasise the importance of alignment and breathing, which she believes are crucial for linking physical strength and mental health. Despite her extensive experience, Elisa remains a lifelong learner, continuously exploring new ways to keep her teaching fresh and inspiring.

Sally Tse

Advanced Bou Trainer

For Sally, yoga is much more than asana(poses) practice or physical activity, which the world has been focusing too much on. Yoga is a journey of self-awareness, a bible of how people should treat themselves and respect others. 

Sally is amazed at how Yoga Bou helps build alignment, balance, strength and flexibility, and body awareness. She always feels relaxed and refreshed after a Yoga Bou class. Now, she is incorporating Yoga Bou into her Ashtanga and Yin teaching and practice.

Stephanie Wu

Advanced Bou Trainer

Stephanie is a dedicated yoga practitioner and teacher who appreciates how various props can enhance the practice. Like any prop, Bou may take a while to get used to. However, she believes practitioners will feel more connected and aware of their bodies over time. Teaching with the Yoga Bou has sparked her creativity and led her to experiment more. She invites you to join her in their wellness journey and try it yourself!​

Fanny Chu

Advanced Bou Trainer

Fanny's teaching style is fun and lighthearted. From the first time she experienced the Bou, she immediately felt a connection with its power to improve health and increase inner awareness. She guides her students with wisdom and compassion for all age groups.

Anna Wong

Advanced Bou Trainer

Anna worked in the media industry for years until she discovered yoga. She then started her Yoga studio, hoping to share the joy of practising Yoga with others. 

 

Yoga Bou has benefited Anna’s practice by bringing awareness to alignment, and the therapeutic effect is greatly appreciated. Anna believes that with the help of Yoga Bou, everyone can access Yoga safely without thinking their body is not built for Yoga.

Michelle Chow

Advanced Bou Trainer

Michelle has been passionate about yoga since 2003, when her first class after the SARS outbreak set her on a transformational journey. As a lover of sports, nature, and animals, she balances her fast-paced career in Media and PR with her yoga practice, where she finds healing and inner peace.

 

Michelle earned certifications in Hot Yoga, Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin Yoga, Yoga Bou, Singing Bowl Sound Healing, and kids and family yoga. Notably, she wasn't born flexible; she understands many challenges. Through dedicated practice, she has experienced significant growth and wishes to share this journey through teaching. Michelle leads fun, welcoming classes for diverse abilities, creating a nurturing community. Eager to enhance her teaching, she continually seeks new training and techniques to benefit her students.

 

Michelle is available for 1-1 and semi-private sessions.

Janice Wong

Advanced Bou Trainer

Janice ventured into her first yoga class in 2008 and has never looked back. Through consistent asana practice she found the immense benefits of yoga that go beyond the physical form. 

 

Her first encounter with Yoga Bou was through a workshop conducted by Anri Shiga in 2017 and was amazed by the immediate effects the Bou offered.  

 

Janice hopes to share with her students the profound healing which yoga can bring when one adheres to a consistent asana, pranayama and meditation practice.

 

As a certified Yoga teacher,  Janice teaches group and private classes at @ayogastudio located in Wan Chai.

Adrienne Tin

Advanced Bou Trainer

Adrienne began her yoga journey in 2002 when she entered her first hot yoga class in Hong Kong to seek physical relaxation. Her interest developed in 2016 when she explored the connection between body, breath, and mind through various yoga practices, including the most recent Yoga Bou training with Anri. 

 

Adrienne completed her 500-hour Advanced Teacher Training in 2019, the same year she began her teaching journey to share her passion and knowledge with her students.  Her classes emphasise posture alignment to prevent injuries and find balance through body awareness, including asana, Yoga Bou, Pranayama, Meditation, Sound Therapy, and Kid’s Yoga to help with concentration and mindfulness.

Samantha Yong

Advanced Bou Trainer

Samantha is a passionate and dedicated yoga practitioner and teacher who has been exploring the transformative power of yoga for the past 14 years. She has been teaching private yoga and in small groups, believing that yoga is not a "one-size-fits-all" practice. With personalised instruction and using yoga tools like Yoga Bou, she finds immense joy in witnessing her students discover and embark on their yoga journey.

Ceris Wong

Advanced Bou Trainer

Born in Toronto and raised in Hong Kong, Ceris aspires to live both on and off the mat with a humble heart and mind. Having received ballet training for more than 20 years and rediscovered herself with yoga practice, she hopes to share her practice and recovery journey with her students, encouraging them to seek inner balance and to be fully present.

Sally Fong

Advanced Bou Trainer

Sally is a passionate holistic practitioner with over 15 years of practice and teaching experience. She enjoys inspiring others to guide her students on their well-being journeys. She provides recommendations and coaching while motivating them to find their inner peace and healthiest selves. Yoga Bou is one of her favourite tools for helping her students refine their body alignment and get physical and emotional relief. 

 

Sally teaches in the HK Jockey Club clubhouse and provides private and small group sessions in Kowloon and NT taught in Cantonese, English, and Mandarin.

Greta Lai

Advanced Bou Trainer

A yoga practitioner since 2005 and sharing her passion since 2011, Greta has navigated life’s changes with yoga as her support system. A strong believer that “yoga is for every-body,” she began her exploration as a Yoga Therapist, and has been constantly enriching her knowledge with training (functional anatomy, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Myofasical Release, Accessible Yoga, the science of pain, just to name a few) with consistent personal practice of the Ashtanga method.

 

Popular belief is that yoga prop is for the less-abled, however tools such as Yoga Bou can develop a better sense of their body, and enhance proprioception. The seed of the mantra “less is more” has been planted in Greta’s yoga path and has quietly begun to grow as she continue to observe the evolution of your yoga journey.

Nat Foong

Advanced Bou Trainer

Nat is an Ecopreneur, Strategist, and a Wellness Curator (Gong Catalyst, Sound Practitioner, Yoga Bou Advanced Trainer, Reiki Grandmaster, Reiki Master Teacher). 

 

She’s been in the marketing, strategy, creative, and communication consulting industry for global, regional and local brands. Her wellness journey has evolved over the past 10 years to where she incorporates business, marketing, eco-sustainability, arts, science technology, and wellness in her everyday practices. 

 

Her Yoga Bou’s journey started when she was having shoulder pain, due to long hours at work. Since then, it has helped to release muscular tensions and realign her entire body, giving her better posture. Hence, she has started to share this journey to help others overcome these challenges, too.

Carolina Cheung

Advanced Bou Trainer

Carolina views yoga and fitness as the perfect combination for a healthy body and mind. She believes in the importance of listening to her body while progressively challenging her own edge when the timing is right.

 

When it comes to teaching yoga, she values the power of props, as they enhance proprioception and posture accessibility. In a fitness context, props act as a supportive companion for warm-up and active recovery. These explain why she is drawn to the Yoga Bou.

 

Carolina is a certified yoga instructor and fitness trainer. She teaches small groups and private sessions in Wan Chai, North Point, Kwun Tong, and Lai Chi Kok.

Cindy Ma

Advanced Bou Trainer

Cindy started her yoga journey in 2003 while working as a fashion designer. Yoga gave her peace in dealing with her busy, stressful working lifestyle. After completing her first Yoga Certification Course at Yoga Limbs, she has continued her studies and is certified as a prenatal, yin, antigravity, infant massage therapist, and also a Zumba Instructor. 

 

Being one of the first graduates from

After Michiko’s Yoga Bou Certification Training in HK in 2016, she has experience using the tool for her practice and to help her students. 

 

She has experience teaching multi-level classes that can cater to all levels. For group and one-on-one sessions, you can find her at @yogaroomhk in Sheung Wan.

Catherine Ip

Advanced Bou Trainer

Catherine is a passionate practitioner specialising in the use of tools such as Yoga Wheel, Aerial Yoga. Beyond practising asanas, she explores spirituality through sound healing with Singing Bowls and Steel Tongue Drums, as well as seated meditation, which has opened up her mind and awareness. 

 

Since teaching with the Bou, she feels the tool has enriched her practice by guiding her into optimum alignment, supporting deep stretches, and helping to build strength through resistance and core engagement. 

​

She is offering regular group sessions in CWB and Wan Chai on weekends at @gazeyoga.studio and @imayogiyogaacademy, as well as private sessions.

Maggie Li

Advanced Bou Trainer

Sharing the yoga with positivity and inspiration, Maggie is an Alignment-based Vinyasa teacher, Singing Bowl, Tuning Fork therapist, AromaCarer and a Divemaster

​

Maggie’s Yoga Bou journey began when she experienced sharp pain around her pectoralis major and shoulder blade after undergoing surgery and radiotherapy for breast cancer. She was impressed by the effectiveness of Yoga Bou in relieving chest and scapular tension, improving mobility, and reducing post-operative swelling in affected limbs. Inspired by her own healing, Maggie is passionate about helping others overcome similar challenges and reconnect with their bodies and spirits through Yoga Bou practices.

 

Maggie currently teaches her regular Bou class at @being_yoga_pilates and offers group and private yoga and sound healing sessions.
